  1. Wado Kaichin

    2. Traisen

These Coins were 2 of several coins that were introduced when the emperor decided to take on the idea of non material objects used as currency.

They were made of either Gold, Silver and copper. These coins changed shape overtime turning from circular to oval to then back to take the appearance of round.

  • A coin dating back to the Edo period(1587) was purley made of Gold(or silver) and many coins that existed in the same period were extremly similar to this.

The Soga clan was one of the most powerful clans known to Japanese history being intermarried with the imperial family and was one of the biggest groups to promote Buddhism.

Soga no Iname- the leader of the Soga clan -stated that with Buddhism there would also be a new form of government that instead of many clans being separate and self reliant everyone would work together under orders of an Emperor.
